A Classy Classic

The Sneaker Culture

Who doesn’t remember and love the classic AM 90 Infrareds?  Nike has paid tribute to this classic by rereleasing it with some nice modifications for the fall.  For starters, the leather mudguard has been replaced with a faux ostrich skin (No worries PETA), the mesh is replaced with rip-stop nylon, and the soft nubuck upper has been replaced with premium nubuck and leather…oh yea, and it of course will be sporting a fancy premium tag.  I would like to extend a thank you to Nike for not trying to mash this classic with an air force one or create some crazy hybrid as they have done with so many premiums recently.  The shoe would have been highly sought after with just a straight rerelease but I think these modifications will help justify the higher price tag and add a lot to the shoe.

I would like to make it clear, as cool as these are, they don’t compare to the “infrastripes” by jgoods himself. If you disagree, get a sniff.
