On one hand, it’s seems so easy to make a disgustingly ugly colorway: see below. On the other hand, it seems so simple: see above. Army greens and browns mixed with safety orange: always a winning combination. Put it on a decent shoe, and you’ve got hype you don’t even need to manufacture.
The above are adidas ZX600 designed in conjunction with DC store, Major (who also own one of the coolest store logos out there right now). It’s a great shoe, and it looks like a lot of thought went into this colorway. It’s tuly one thing to say “mix army greens and browns with safety orange”; and another to do it successfully. The digital camo is a nice touch, the tongue tag looks great, and the Climacool-esque toe sets everything off quite nicely.
adidas has released plenty of technicolor barfbags, but they have also been right on the money with the vast majority of the retro stuff they’ve put out, showing actual respect for their more “historic” shoe models. What a crazy notion.
