The day after his BET performance, Jay-Z hits us with the official video release for his “Death of Autotune” track featuring guest appearances from Lebron James, Harvey Keitel and Lyor Cohen. Produced by No I.D., Jay takes aim at the ringtone-happy state of rap while also calling for a cease-and-desist to all artists using the voice manipulating Auto-Tune. Not too many metaphors or subliminal messages in this one. Check it out.
Jay’s 11th solo effort, Blueprint 3 is set to drop on September 11th, 2009. Oh yea, the album won’t feature any autotune.
