With summer upon us, we have so many things to consider as we update our wardrobes. As I have perused numerous summer collections and look books I have come up with a few favorites to help you make some decisions. I present to you my top three collections for the summer of 2009.
Lettuce begin.
1. Amongst Friends
Following their great ‘country club’ spring line, Amongst Friends hits us with their summer 2009 ‘Leisure Club’ Collection. A range of graphic T’s, belts, and crisp New Era hats in trucker, snapback, fitted and golfer styles complement the solid array of well-detailed cut and sew pieces. Other items such as 5-panel caps, silk scarves and swim trunks ensure Amongst Friends has the gear you need to get through the summer heat lookin’ fresh.
2. Leroy Jenkins
This one was surprising to me. For summer 2009, Leroy Jenkins revisits some of the vintage patterns that first made the label a household name a few years back. However, this time around, instead of giving hoodies and fitteds their floral treatment, Leroy Jenkins shoots from the hip and brings us some great looking shorts and pants. 3. Play Cloths
Stop searching for the E’s cause the O’s is long. Now go and put your Play Cloths on! Maybe I am biased here because I’m such a big Clipse fan… maybe not The collection, based on the exploits of water-faring socialites, is full of graphic tees, cut and sew pieces, button ups and shorts that will keep you looking cool even if you’re sweating balls in front of a barbecue grill or under interrogation lamps at the police station.
